Victorian Engineers' Workshop

Donated by Roy Masters, Blacksmith, North Creake.

 

A fully operational machine shop with three lathes, two vertical drills, shaper, hacksaw, hand powered planer, threading machine

and steel bar chopper and punch.

 

The entire workshop is driven by a system of line shafts, belts and pulleys, powered by a Marshall Steam Engine.

 

STEAM ENGINE DONATED BY Edme Malt, Mistley.

TYPE Single Cylinder Horizontal. 16 HP.

BUILDER Marshall, Gainsborough. 1914.

CYLINDER 12 inch. Stroke 16 inch.

VALVES Simple slide valve.

GOVERNOR Pickering.

FLYWHEEL 5 foot diameter.
